About the book
Maybe you’re a Christian who attends church but feels something’s wrong, or maybe you don’t go to church but you feel condemned?
Or perhaps you don’t label yourself as a Christian at all; you simply don’t want anything to do with Christianity because you’ve assumed you will have to become part of some “church” scene, and for you, that’s not going to happen. Ever.
Now here’s a really challenging category. Perhaps you go to a church where questioning or challenging long held traditions, or the leadership team, is not permitted.
What if so much of what you’ve been taught about “proper” Christian behaviour merely reflects traditions of men rather than the ways of God? If you’re hungry to discover the joy and meaning of living in relationship with God without being chained by man’s rules, this is the path to freedom!
Jesus didn’t even try to appoint a better high priest, or to rewrite the long lists of religious rules. He just ignored them as being irrelevant and got on with walking in the light of his Father.
Your journey may mean asking lots of questions, and possibly being opposed by those who are threatened by your questions. It can be scary rattling the cage, but maybe that’s what God wants you to do!
The goal is freedom. Freedom to relate personally to a loving Father.
Author
Dave (Daividh) Wilkinson is a survivor of the abuse sometimes dished out by hierarchical authorities within Christendom. His personal search for answers included analysis and critique of the works of others, leading him to discovery of freedom from church traditions that got in the way of a personal relationship with God.
Dave writes under a pen name as he wants readers to seek their answers from God, not him!
